Dionne Addai
Dionne Addai (they/she) is a performer, writer, director, and teaching artist local to Chicago. She works at About Face Theatre as their Educational and Artistic Programming Director. Dionne is a passionate advocate for reproductive rights, racial justice, and free comprehensive sex education. Their artistic practice centers on educating to encourage sociopolitical action and mutual aid. As a performer, Dionne has multiple on-camera credits and has worked with over 20 renowned theatre companies (Merrimack Repertory, Raven Theatre, Filament Theatre; etc). She co-hosts a live-recorded podcast called Mad Liberation and releases music under the stage name, Strawberry Gelato. Dionne is represented by Actors Talent Group.
B.B. Cooper Browne
B.B. Cooper Browne (he/him/his) is a drag artist and producer in Chicago. A graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, he has over six years in the Chicago non-profit theatre arts industry as an administrator, playwright, and producer. Browne also produced a virtual production of his first full-length play, Chicago Theatre Goddamn!!!, a play that functions as a protest against the culture of silence that suffocates American theater practices. Browne is a proud participant of the Drag Me 2 Life fellowship program, facilitated by Cindy Nero and supported by Voices of Purpose. As a drag artist, known as Gen Da Playboi, he rebels against all boundaries and binaries. He co-hosts a queer variety talk show with Strawberry Gelato called Mad Liberation - the show where we are mad enough to liberate ourselves and each other. IG @Madliberationshow.
Established in 2023, ethereal hosts Strawberry Gelato (IG: @strawberrygelato) and Gen Da Playboi (IG: @gen_playboi) present Mad Liberation, a live-record podcast that highlights Chicago’s Black and LGBTQIA+ community. Each episode features an interview with a queer person who is striving for our collective liberation - be it through art, performance, providing resources, and/or their service to the community.
