Backstage Opportunities: Fall 2025 Pro-Show

mars rover

TAPS is looking for students interested in assisting professionals for the Fall 2025 TAPS Pro-Show. Auditions will take place at the start of Week 1 Fall 2025.

The Fall show is:
Happy Birthday Mars Rover by Preston Choi, Directed by Helen Young

The Mars Rover sings Happy Birthday to itself as it searches for life on Mars as humans back on Earth search to understand what life is. A medley of snapshots, from cave people naming abstract concepts, bubbles that scream when popped, housewives battling existential dread, cows trying to get to heaven, and the last human on Earth collecting jars of hair. Happy Birthday Mars Rover is a darkly comedic and whimsically morbid attempt to understand the human condition and life itself.

Working on a TAPS pro show is a unique opportunity to learn about the creation of a performance from PROs. As a student assistant, you will attend production meetings, conduct research, assist in executing designs, and receive mentorship and feedback from a professional theatre-maker.

No experience is necessary. This is meant to be an educational opportunity for you to get involved with theater and have fun. Production meetings will commence in May 2025. The workload varies for each role and is up for conversation.  Fall course credit is available!
