Jessica recently completed her MFA in Acting in 2018 (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). She acts professionally around the Midwest, most recently in I Now Pronounce with the New Jewish Theatre of St. Louis and in the independent feature film Intoxicated Rain (forthcoming 2020). She works as a corporate communications trainer with Pinnacle Performance Company (teaching folks how to give more effective meetings and presentations by approaching them like performances), and as a Consulting Associate with Morten Group, LLC, focusing on racial equity, diversity, and inclusion work (and drawing directly on her TAPS thesis about white anti-racist identity development). Her most unexpected recent application of her TAPS degree came when she collaborated on alumna Sandra Ruiz’s (AB English ‘99) book Ricanness: Enduring Time in Anticolonial Performance (NYU Press, 2019), reading the text out loud cover to cover with the author as the backbone of the final editing process.
Gavin Pak (they/them) is an arts manager and artist platforming queer artists of color and centering care in their practice. They founded Pothos Arts & Theater House through which they produced LA’s first all-TGNC musical theater show and the Hantext Writers’ Room & New Works Festival, staging seven new plays all by trans artists of color. Recently, Gavin stewarded strategic planning as the Management Fellow at Regional Theatre Tony Award winner, Paper Mill Playhouse.
