Born and raised in Miami, FL, Jazmin received her foundational training at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center (AHCAC), a multi-disciplinary arts facility within the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs. The training led her to graduating from New World School of the Arts with a focus in Musical Theatre. She later returned to AHCAC as Theater Manager, Theater Marketing Manager, and as Artistic Director of its pre-professional program, the African Heritage Youth Theatre (AHYT), shaping the next generation of young artists.
Most recently, Jazmin served as the People and Culture Director at Lookingglass Theatre Company. During her four-year tenure, she oversaw all human resources functions, led the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and successfully guided the company through three leadership transitions and two programmatic pauses.
Jazmin was named a “Rising Leader of Color” by Theatre Communications Group in 2019 and was recognized as one of Legacy Magazine’s “40 Leaders Under 40–Miami” in 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Arts from Old Dominion University.
When she’s not advocating for vibrant, inclusive arts communities, Jazmin enjoys spending time with her husband, her two-year-old son Naim, and their mini goldendoodle, August Wilson.
