Playwriting: Discovery & Risk

A launchpad for writing for the stage through weekly in-class exercises, the study of established play texts, and the workshopping of students’ scenes. This course requires a classroom of peers to read, think, and write not as literary scholars, but as PLAYWRIGHTS. Big swings (in a first draft) and thoughtful reexamination (in revision) are encouraged as students bring their original voices to tried-and-true lessons on storytelling craft.
