TAPS Majors and Minors Information

Deadlines and useful information

**Please note: MAPH and CW students should check with their home department to confirm final deadlines and registration procedures**

TAPS 29800, TAPS colloquium.  This course meets on alternate (odd) weeks of the quarter in the autumn.  In the winter it meets every week.  You may only receive credit for the course in one quarter, but it does not matter when you register.  Your grade for 29800 will reflect your participation in the colloq and will not show up on your transcript until Spring Quarter, regardless of which quarter you register.

Honors:
“Eligibility for honors in TAPS requires an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, a GPA of 3/5 or higher in the courses taken for the Theater and Performance Studies major, and a BA project that is judged by the readers to display exceptional intellectual creative merit.”

Autumn 2009 Meeting Dates (10:30 am - 12:00 pm):

  • Friday October 9
  • Friday October 23
  • Friday November 6
  • Friday November 20
  • Friday December 4

Deadlines:

Friday of 10th week, Winter Quarter—Third Year Form

Please fill out the final application to major, stating all courses you have taken thus far and those you intend in your final year.  Include a brief description of your B.A. project as well as proposed foundation of theory.

Friday of 10th week, Autumn Quarter—Timeline, Prospectus, Reading List

Please turn in two copies to TAPS admin (RC 301)

Monday of 11th week, Winter Quarter—Complete Draft

Please give one copy to you advisor, and one copy to the TAPS admin (RC 301) by noon. The draft will be reviewed by the TAPS preceptor and (if you’ve arranged this in advance) your advisor.

Monday of 5th week, Winter Quarter—Draft of Shame

Please give one copy to you advisor, and one copy to the TAPS admin (RC 301) by noon. The draft will be reviewed by the TAPS preceptor and (if you’ve arranged this in advance) your advisor.

Friday of 5th week, Spring Quarter—Final Draft, Honors

Please turn in 3 copies to the TAPS office, and one to your adviser.  If you wish your paper to be considered for honors it must be turned in no later than 5pm, Friday of 5th Week.

Friday of 7th week, Spring Quarter—Final Draft

For graduation, 2 copies to the TAPS office (RC 301) by 5pm.
