Nuts and Bolts

Playwright and actor Mickle Maher has worked in Chicago for the last twenty years. In 1987 he co-founded Chicago’s critically acclaimed Theater Oobleck, and has remained a producing company member. Works of his have been presented Off-Broadway at the Barrow St. theatre, NYC’s New Victory Theatre, Steppenwolf Theater, Redmoon Theatre, NYC’s Public Theater, Goodman Theatre (New Stages Series), Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the Spertus Institute, Links Hall, the St. Louis Museum of Contemporary Art, DiverseWorks in Houston, and by companies in Finland, Germany, Slovenia and England. As a playwright and theater maker he has collaborated closely with acclaimed directors Jim Lasko, Jessica Thebus, Charles Newell, Blair Thomas and Frank Magurie among others in the creation and production of numerous works. His plays are published by Hope and Nonthings (Chicago). In the warmest spirit of collaboration, TAPS partner with Creative Writing to bring Mickle Maher as the Sergel Lecturer in Winter 2009.
