How to control the dimensions of video signals? What are the dynamics of that relationship? The workshop will guide participants in the art of video synthesis and performance. Parker Langvardt

Parker Langvardt is a video artist and video engineer based in Chicago, IL. He has been exploring analogue video synthesizers and circuit bent devices since 2016, leading to a career in video for theatrical, corporate, and immersive productions. With a background in music and graphic design, Langvardt sought out ways to project generative and improvised video art without the use of computers while performing live music with his instrumental rock band Cascader. This quickly spiraled into performing live visuals and creating music videos for other musical artists using projectors and CRT televisions, eventually incorporating computers for additional generative video and playback. Langvardt’s curiosity and experimental approach has also been an asset in his professional career. He has worked as a video designer, media server programmer, and engineer in Chicago at Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, Chicago Shakes, and The Neo-Futurists, as well as New York Philharmonic, The National Theater (DC), Music Theatre of Wichita, St. Louis Rep, Berkeley Rep, Seattle Rep, and aboard Royal Caribbean cruises. He also freelances as a video engineer at corporate events, trade shows, and immersive experiences around the United States.
